"Nations and peoples are largely the stories they feed themselves.
If they tell themselves stories that are lies, they will suffer
the future consequences of those lies. If they tell themselves
stories that face their own truths, they will free their histories
for future flowerings."
From Birds of Heaven by Ben Okri
"The weekly Torah portion, whose contents are read in
Hebrew every Sabbath morning in countless synagogues across
North America, remains a mystery to most congregants. Amichai
Lau-Lavie, the founder of Storahtelling, wants to change that,
and much more while he's at it. Amichai is seeking to revitalize
the synagogue experience as well as revolutionize the experience
of ritual itself. Alternative Judaism has, perhaps, found a
new ritual and a rebbe to lead it."
