SCHOOLTIME! STORAHTELLING TRAINING
The Storahtelling model offers a simple solution to a modern challenge, deeply
rooted in tradition, yet radically current. Four years of experiments
have demonstrated that a "wasted opportunity" can
indeed become a "star attraction." We envision this
model as being successfully adopted and adapted by congregations,
schools, and community centers worldwide. Towards this goal
we are continually presenting, experimenting and evaluating
the Storahtelling model as well as developing and implementing
training programs towards its successful dissemination.

It is our firm conviction and recent experience that latent
"Storahtellers" can be found in every Jewish community
— among clergy as well as lay people
— educators, artists, and performers.
Inspiring, empowering, and training local "Storahtellers" will
organically integrate the Storahtelling model into the larger
community in a manner most suitable to local customs and needs.
The Storahteller training curriculum combines theory and practice. Textual
studies include a historical overview of the evolution and future possibilities
of the Torah Service, spanning 2,000 years and 4 continents of sacred literature
and folklore. The hands-on practice includes adaptation of Jewish and theatrical
storytelling techniques, live improvisation, and integration of personal narrative
and popular culture with classical commentary.
