Setting the Stage:
  A Taste of Storahtelling. An introduction to Storahtelling and Torah translation. May include a brief history of the organization, an interactive exercise or ritual experience, a preview of the Shabbaton programming.
(10-15 minutes)


Maven Torah Reading Ritual:
  Storahtelling Mavens (translators/interpreters) bring the Torah to life through a fresh fusion of Hebrew chanting, dramatized English translation and interactive commentary working within the structure of your community's existing Torah service ritual. Suitable for community members of all ages. Mavens programming can be tailored to a specific audience (students, leaders) and may take place outside the traditional Torah reading times for the purposes of education. Mavens translate 3 aliyot verse-per-verse, and someone from hosting organization (a layperson, rabbi, cantor, ect.) chants the selected Torah.
(45-60 minutes)

Talkback:   A Q&A session that allows the community a forum to debrief the experience and learn more about Storahtelling and the history of the Maven.

Choice of 1 Workshop:  Meet the Maven or Backstage with Storahtelling

         Meet the Maven.  An interactive study session on the ancient art of Torah translation and its contemporary relevance using Judaic and          literary theory and commentaruy. This workshop is suitable for adults, educators and older students (60-90 minutes)

         Backstage with Storahtelling.  An on-your-feet interactive workshop designed to inspire participants to experiment with Torah          translation and to increase comprehension and relevancy of Judaism's ancient texts using theater exercises and translation techniques.          This workshop can be tailored for adults, educators or students. Maximum 30 participants. (90-120 minutes)


Program Fees: For one Maven, the fee for a Shabbaton weekend is $3,000. For two Mavens, $3,600. An additional workshop (2 instead of 1) or Havdalah program can be added for $500. These prices do not include food, transportation accommodation or any costs related to sound equipment.

StorahSteps:

"StorahSteps" is Storahtelling's early childhood education initiative, in partnership with 14th Street Y. StorahSteps presents an innovative model for engaging young Jewish families with the core narratives, rituals and values of the Jewish heritage in exciting, accessible and meaningful ways. Aimed at 2-6 year olds, their caregivers and families, StorahSteps™ uses Storahtelling's successful Maven Method of integrating Jewish learning with the performing arts and adapts it to age-appropriate educational frameworks of early childhood programs.

Program Fees: $1,800. This price includes 2 performers, 1 actor/puppeteer and 1 actor/musician. This fee does not include food, transportation accommodation or any costs related to audio/visual equipment. For more information about StorahSteps, please click here.

Educator's Workshops:

Inspire and empower your community to experiment further with creative Torah translation. Go backstage and between the lines with Storahtelling professionals, as participants get on their feet and experiment with their own Storahtelling-inspired dramatization of selected Torah passages. This workshop is ideal for lay leaders, educators and life-long learners, as well as those interested in pursuing more formal training with Storahtelling. (4 hours. Maximum size: 30 participants. For additional participants, a second trainer will be needed)

Program Fees: $1,500 for one trainer. $1,750 for two trainers (for groups over 30 participants). This does not include food, transportation, accommodation or any costs related to sound equipment.

StorahStage Productions:   The shows listed below are original StorahStage productions for varying age groups. Some are holiday-specific, some are appropraite year-round. All shows have a Q&Q talkback following the performance and can be bundled with an accompanying workshop. StorahStage shows have been parformed at conferences, benefits, synagogues, churches, camps, community centers and theatres.

"Becoming Israel"

Three parallel lives intertwine to discover their shared story and their common name -Israel- "The One Who Struggles with God". Leah, a Biblical wife, meets Rachel, a Holocaust survivor, and Jake, a young American on his first trip to Israel. Fusing sacred scripture with contemporary stagecraft, Becoming Israel examines the intersection between individual indentity and collective memory, inviting audiences for a closer look at the legacy of Israel in a global reality. www.storahtelling.org/becomingisrael

Becoming Israel features original soundscore, adaptions of biblical test, and historical narrative. It is designed for a teen and adult audience. 60 minutes.

"One Giant Leap"

The Red Sea splits open but who will dive first into the waters of the unknown?

Leap into one of the world's oldest stories and discoverthe miracles in the 'behind the scenes' look at the timeless Exodus story. Featuring actors, live music, audience interaction and a Puppet! Storahtelling brings the bible to life for children of all ages.

"Like A Prayer"

Explore the power of prayer with Biblical ancestors Sarah, Hagar, Hannah and Aaron the High Priest. Reawaken to the prayerful experience with mystical tales, instrumental interludes and the art of the spoken word.

Two versions of Like A Prayer are available, one that is themed for High Holiday season and one that is appropraite year-round. 40 minutes plus Q&A Talkback. Designed for ages 10 and up.
